August 1, 2009 AAHA museum exhibit “FOOTPRINTS to CHANGE" opened. The exhibit  incorporates four specific periods in history: “From Africa to Jamestown,” “The American Revolution,” “The Underground Railroad in Fauquier,” and “Social Movements.” The exhibit is a journey through time illustrating the presence of African Americans from the formation of the United States to the Fauquier County today. more info...

A 1949 Hollywood "problem" films dealing with "passing", starring Jeanne Crain, Ethel Barrymore, Ethel Waters, Evelyn Varden, Frederick O’Neal, Nina Mae McKinney.

INTRUDER IN THE DUSK

A 1949 "problem" film, a black man is falsely accused of murdering a white man.
